Wishes from the President of Ukraine
The President of Ukraine attached a video of a video call with President Andrzej Duda to the entry.
Dear Andrzej, Dear Mr. President, on behalf of all Ukrainians, I congratulate you on the Polish Independence Day and I sincerely wish the Polish nation that the independence of the Republic of Poland will always be inviolable and strong, Zelenskiy emphasized.
He noted that “Ukraine’s independence will always be a strong pillar of Poland’s freedom.”
Our nations, together with all of Europe, have come a long way and every time we have been on the same side, we have changed history for the better.
Zelensky emphasized.
He pointed out that “amazing things are possible when Ukrainians and Poles are united by a common goal.”
Both in the battles of Orsha and Zamość, and now – in the ongoing struggle for the freedom of Ukraine, and therefore of Poland
– added the President of Ukraine.
We will win this battle because we value each other. Ukrainians will always be grateful to Poland for the fact that in the most difficult time, when Russia came to destroy our country, the Polish nation helped Ukraine to persevere
Zelensky emphasized.
Gratitude for help
He noted that he was grateful that “Polish hearts felt the rhythm of Ukrainian hearts at the right time and in the right way.”
I am grateful that values such as honor, liberty and freedom are truly fundamental to the Polish nation
– added the President of Ukraine.
And – as he added – “I am grateful for the peace and respect for all our compatriots to whom you have given shelter and shared the warmth of the Polish home.”
Dear Andrzej, may today’s Independence Day be, as always, happy for Poland and may the partnership between our nations, forever free, strengthen our entire Europe
Zelensky said.
Remember, Andrzej, Jerzy Giedroyc said that without an independent Ukraine there will be no independent Poland. And it was not something sentimental, it reflected the rational interests of our nations
– emphasized the President of Ukraine.
In the same way – as he added – “the unity of Europe – our common interest – can only be strong if one of its foundations is the alliance of Ukrainian and Polish will.”
When we are together in the European Union, in NATO and at all the decisive moments of our common history
Zelensky said.
Together we are at least twice as strong. Long live free Poland. And long live free Ukraine. Once again I congratulate you and all Poles from the bottom of my heart and soul
– emphasized the President of Ukraine.
Thanks from President Duda
Mr. President, Volodymyr, first of all, thank you very much for speaking with you on such an important day for all of us, when we celebrate our independence very solemnly, but at the same time with focus and confidence in our plans.
– said President Andrzej Duda.
As he said, “It is the 105th anniversary of regaining independence in 1918.”
When we look at this history, as you just said, Volodymyr, we understand how important the value of alliances, good neighborliness and brotherhood is.
– Duda emphasized.
President Zelensky thanked the Polish president.
I am very happy to hear this, and indeed on this difficult but good path, the path from Ukraine to the EU and NATO, I am glad that we are not alone on this path, and that you are always with us been
– he pointed out.
And – as he emphasized – ‘today I won’t waste your time anymore. You have to be with your people.”
I am very glad that our nations are such friends and therefore I once again congratulate you on the holiday
– added Zelensky.
On November 11, Poland celebrates National Independence Day to commemorate the transfer of the Supreme Command of the Polish Army to Józef Piłsudski by the Regency Council on that day in 1918.
The holiday was established in 1937 by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. It was abolished in 1945 and was not officially celebrated during the entire period of the Polish People’s Republic. The holiday was reinstated by law in 1989 – since then National Independence Day on November 11 has been a public holiday.
