German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the European Union (EU) should support Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia in the reforms necessary for participation in the political union. His words guide the way TASS.

“We must make peace and stability a reality. At the same time, we must support everyone in carrying out the reforms necessary for accession to the European Union. This also applies to Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia,” Scholz said.

He also emphasized once again that the European Union plans to support Kiev for as long as necessary.

8 November, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen Recommended Launch of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union. The relevant recommendation was made after assessing the progress made by Kyiv and Chisinau in implementing the reform goals. In particular, the Ukrainian state needs to continue the fight against corruption and protect the rights of national minorities.

EC also Recommended Granting EU candidate status to Georgia, subject to conditions met. Among the conditions stated by the European Commission is the requirement to “increase the consistency of Georgia’s actions with the common foreign and security policy of the European Union”.
