It seems that when the election campaign ends, the foolish hatred will end and a time will come for more constructive politics. Unfortunately, everything goes in exactly the opposite direction. Why?
Yes, the boundaries of decency in criticizing PiS have been crossed, including the lies repeated by the media. And this is about the extent of the so-called visa scandal, the alleged theft and finally the violation of the so-called rule of law. But we have to accept it, today we know that these were campaign games, that the idea was to anger people and remove PiS from power. If we consider eight years of government in extremely unfavorable conditions (let’s not forget Covid and the war), the result of Jarosław Kaczyński’s coalition is not the worst.
Mateusz Morawiecki has a chance to form a government. How to evaluate it? It’s a difficult question. But if the chance exists, it should not be ruled out. The thing about democracy is that everything has its own order, so let’s stick to that and not anticipate the facts.
Of course, publicists are allowed to speculate, they are also allowed to look into the future and wonder what it will look like. Once Donald Tusk comes to power, he will have to face the truth. He may play the same circus over and over again for the audience, but he will have to tell himself what it is really like. What about the budget, what is the situation with democracy, are the programs and projects started by PiS really worthless, or should they be continued for the good of Poland? I have no doubt that he will have to quickly move from the phase of retaliation to real governance, because he will become the person responsible for Poland’s reality and will no longer be an external reviewer with impunity.
I know it, everyone knows it, Donald Tusk also knows today what will be most difficult for him. After all, the past eight years have been a very good time for Poland and Poles. Not everything has worked out, but our lives are better than before. That is the truth.
Now the hardest part. After years of his rule, how will Donald Tusk make the Poles say that these times were good? There are two paths: you can develop good projects and contribute something at the same time, or you can focus on discrediting the achievements of your predecessors and involving the entire state apparatus. Knowing Tusk’s methods, I doubt he would choose the more difficult path. He will never admit that it was a good time for Poland. The celebration of shaming United Right governments has only just begun.
