The situation in the Gaza Strip is extremely difficult and complex. Of course we have information about Poland, there are more than twenty people, we are doing everything we can to find them, said the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arkadiusz Mularczyk (PiS), in the first program of Polish Radio. The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also criticized the idea of Radosław Sikorski becoming head of Polish diplomacy again and referred to the shocking case of Włodzimierz Karpiński.
Mularczyk was asked about the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Poland in the Gaza Strip
The situation is extremely difficult and complex. Of course we have information about Poland, there are more than twenty people, we are doing everything we can to find them, there are also people with dual nationality. However, it must be said clearly that there are major difficulties in the dialogue when it comes to getting these people out of Israel, out of the Gaza Strip. This was also the purpose of the discussions that our ministry held with the ambassadors of Egypt, Israel and the representative of Palestine
– emphasized the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He reiterated that “this process is extremely difficult and complicated.”
Very intensive discussions on this issue are underway
– he assured.
Sikorski’s return?
When asked whether Radosław Sikorski is a good candidate for the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mularczyk replied in the negative.
This is the candidate of your worst dreams, the candidate who laid the foundation for the Russian-German reset, who participated in all the agreements with Putin, who hoped that this would give him a chance at an international career, the head of NATO and other international positions. When it all ended, we remember that Tusk fooled Sikorski
– said the deputy minister.
He assessed that Sikorski is “the author of major failures of Polish diplomacy”.
Censorship in the European Parliament
He was also asked about the case of PiS members. The day before yesterday, the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee adopted a motion to lift the immunity of four United Right MEPs: Beata Kemp, Beata Mazurek, Patryk Jaki and Tomasz Poręba. A plenary session of the European Parliament will take place today, during which, among other things, deputies will vote on the proposal to lift immunity.
I hope this will not happen, as this would be an example of a scandalous violation of fundamental freedom of expression
– he assessed.
This shows the mindset of some left-liberal European elites, who speak loudly about the supposed rule of law, human rights and freedom of expression, and use institutional violence against their opponents, demanding the abolition of immunity and bringing in a politician for the judge because he liked the post. There’s no way Orwell would have made this up
– points to the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Asked whether the Foreign Office would respond if immunity were lifted today, he said: “We are looking at this issue very carefully, and it is also a role for the Ministry of Justice to make an assessment whether this request is justified. not at all. Because if it does not concern the injured party, a specific person who has suffered damage due to the submission or comment, then I have serious doubts whether this is even within the limits and based on the law.
Karpiński’s case
Mularczyk was also asked about the case of Włodzimierz Karpiński, who was in custody and agreed to take up the mandate of Member of the European Parliament.
In my opinion, all the criminal offenses that Karpiński may have committed, of which the public prosecutor accuses him and for which he is today in custody, were committed before he was elected Member of the European Parliament, and in this case immunity does not cover these acts. .
– he assessed.
Immunity would potentially protect him if he took any action during the exercise of his mandate as a Member of the European Parliament. But this is also the purpose of the immunity waiver procedure. In my opinion, there is no reason to claim that he will “go from his cell to Brussels” because all these activities took place before he took up the mandate of MEP.
– said the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“‘Cleaning up’ public media
Deputy Minister Mularczyk also referred to the loud announcements of the opposition, which plans to remove many journalists from the public media after it comes to power.
I expect some legal chaos and political fighting
– he announced.
The Deputy Head of Polish Diplomacy noted that the proposed changes in public media will be unfavorable from the point of view of the threats and challenges facing Poland in the current difficult times.
We will focus on ourselves and on discussions about reclaiming institutions, rather than (dealing with – editor’s note) issues of security, armaments and economic development
– Mularczyk was worried.
