The only beneficiary of the suspension (yes, suspension, because sooner or later it will be built) of the CPK project will be Germany. And it’s not about passenger traffic, it’s about freight – meaning billions of dollars in fees and customs duties, and our neighbors will do a lot to prevent the port from being built.
— said Kazimierczak on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
He recalled that more than 60 percent of air freight to Poland is a clone in Germany.
The Central Communication Port is a planned interchange hub between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport. As part of this project, 37 km west of Warsaw, for approx. ha, an airport is to be built. The first phase of the airport, i.e. two parallel runways and infrastructure to handle 40 million passengers, is scheduled to start in 2028. The CPK General Plan assumes that the airport will subsequently be expanded in a modular manner.
The CPK company is 100 percent owned by the Ministry of Finance.
