Hungary is ready to organize negotiations between Russia and Ukraine if the parties to the conflict want to hold meetings on the territory of the republic. This was announced by the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjártó. RIA News.

“But you can mediate if both parties want. So it’s not up to us,” Szijjártó emphasized.

The minister added that he met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov and the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Andrei Ermak, a few days after the crisis escalated. Later, the head of the department suggested his country to representatives of Moscow and Kiev as the place for peace negotiations, calling it a “neutral and safe place” for such an event.

As Szijjártó told the agency, this offer from Hungary has not lost its strength and remains current. In this regard, the republic’s authorities are ready to provide a platform for Russia-Ukraine dialogue if needed.
