It is not a war if more than 260 young people are killed at a concert, it is not a war to kidnap a grandmother who survived the Holocaust, it is not a war to kill more than 40 babies; Saying that this is barbarism is not enough – said the Chief Rabbi of Poland, Michael Schudrich, who took part in a solidarity meeting in front of the Israeli embassy, about Hamas’s attack on Israel.

Solidarity meeting with Israel in Warsaw
The following Sunday, a peaceful demonstration began under the slogan ‘Solidarity with Israel’, organized by the Reconciliation Foundation 12. More than 100 people gathered in front of the Israeli embassy. Participants carried Israeli flags; they brought candles and flowers and placed them in front of the embassy.
I don’t know if there is any other language in which someone says the word “peace” (shalom – PAP) to say hello. This is our prayer, this is our hope. Unfortunately, we are in a different time now, but we are still looking for shalom – peace
– said Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich on Sunday in front of the Israeli embassy in Warsaw.
Hamas does not fight for the Palestinian cause
He added that he does not know what Hamas is fighting for, but that it is not fighting for the Palestinian cause.
It’s not a war if more than 260 young people are killed at a concert, it’s not a war to kidnap a grandmother who survived the Holocaust, it’s not a war to kill more than 40 babies. Saying this is barbaric is not enough. I have no words
Schudrich said.
Ćwierz: We cannot remain indifferent
Edward Ćwierz of the Reconciliation Foundation emphasized that he is convinced that “light is stronger than darkness, love is stronger than hate.”
That’s why we’re here. One man can make a difference, there are more than one of us here
– he said.
He added that in Poland “there are many people praying for Israel right now.”
We are in front of the embassy, which is a symbol of the State of Israel, which is so brutally attacked by Hamas terrorists; we are with the families who have lost so many of their loved ones; We are here to express our condolences to them
– he said.
He added that, living in a country where there is peace and freedom, “we do not want to forget those who are oppressed today.”
1,400 people were brutally murdered just because they were Jewish. We remember from history that many people of Jewish descent were murdered in Poland just because they were Jewish. I come from Kielce, where a pogrom took place on July 4, 1946. Historians look for different motives as to why this happened, but the main motive is that they only died because they were Jews. We Poles cannot remain silent as we experience a repeat of the Holocaust in Israel today. We cannot even be indifferent
– he emphasized.

On the morning of October 7, Israel was unexpectedly attacked from the Gaza Strip by the Palestinian Hamas. The strike resulted in the highest number of Israeli deaths since 1973, when the Jewish state went to war with the Syrian-Egyptian coalition.
The clashes, which have been going on for two weeks, have killed more people on both sides than in Israel’s four previous wars with Palestine, the Associated Press pointed out.
