A special train from Brussels to Strasbourg carrying Members of the European Parliament and EP staff, which left today for the capital of Alsace and took them to the plenary, made a mistake and arrived at Disneyland near Paris.
The special train stopped at Disneyland Paris
A train carrying hundreds of MEPs and European Parliament officials briefly stopped at Disneyland Paris after taking a wrong turn on its way to Strasbourg.
Every month, the EP Charter trains exclusively for MEPs and EU officials to transport them between its two headquarters in Brussels and Strasbourg.
45 minutes delay
The European Parliament’s headquarters are in Strasbourg. This fact is often criticized because of the high costs of travel between Brussels and the capital of Alsace, which are borne by the European taxpayer.
After leaving Brussels Midi station, the train arrived at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, from where it headed to Marne la Vallée Chessy, where Disneyland is located. The error resulted in a 45-minute delay, according to Politico.
