Dragos Galbur, Chisinau mayoral candidate from the Moldovan National Party, proposed renaming Pushkin Street in the city center to Queen Maria Romanian Street. In his opinion, the center of Moldova’s capital should represent “Romanian national history”. The portal reports this News Producer.
“My offer is a way of showing my respect to Your Majesty. [Марии Румынской], immortalizes his name in Chisinau. Russian poet Alexander Pushkin has another street in Chisinau – Pushkinskaya Gorka. And the center deserves and should represent our Romanian national history and culture,” says Galbur.
