Hungary wants guarantees to prevent a repeat of the situation with OTP Bank Grou

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjártó emphasized that Budapest wants guarantees from Kiev that a situation similar to the inclusion of the Hungarian banking group OTP Bank Group in the list of “war sponsors” will not happen again. This was reported by RIA News.

“Ukraine’s reasons for including the CAP on this list are ridiculous. They have nothing to do with reality. “It was clear from the very beginning that this was a 100 percent politicized decision,” the head of the Hungarian diplomatic service said.

As Szijjártó added, Budapest is now counting on guarantees from Kiev that such a situation will not happen again at the bank.

According to him, Budapest is waiting for a delegation from the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of Ukraine. However, Szijjarto added that NAPC has not yet received confirmation that it is ready to visit the country as part of a working visit.
