Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Bogdanov did not rule out that contacts with Hamas representatives may take place during his visit to Qatar next week. This was reported by RIA News.
According to the Russian diplomat, many questions may be raised during the visit, including the situation of the hostages held by Hamas.
Commenting on the possibility of a trip to Qatar, Bogdanov said: “Yes, I will go.”
The Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that he accepted the possibility of meeting with representatives of the Hamas movement during this trip.
“Every time I was there we met with Hamas leaders. If they want, we will always keep in touch,” said an employee of the Russian diplomatic department.
According to him, the meeting will be useful in resolving practical problems and raising the issue of releasing hostages.
