The aim of the Competition and Consumer Protection Office is to take care of Polish entrepreneurs and ensure that large international chains do not stifle the margins for Polish entrepreneurs. Polish entrepreneurs must have the state behind them in relations with large chains, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Bytom on Friday.
When economic crises arise, it is worth thinking about how the state behaves. About twelve years ago there was such a crisis and the state did nothing or almost nothing to help entrepreneurs. In recent years we have faced several threats: Covid, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis. Every time we tried to provide support to entrepreneurs – the anti-Covid shield was about saving jobs, and then there was the Solidarity, anti-inflation and anti-Putin shield.
– Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said this on Friday in Bytom during a press conference.
The conference took place in a bakery in Bytom.
I had a sad thought about how recently a man kissed bread and then the bread ended up in the garbage. This gentleman is our main political opponent. When someone kisses bread for show and the bread ends up in the trash, it reminds me of a folk saying: If someone despises bread, God hates it even more.
– said the Prime Minister.
He assured that he would take care of entrepreneurs and create economic conditions so that the competitive advantage of large chains would not be so overwhelming.
The aim of the Competition and Consumer Protection Office is to take care of Polish entrepreneurs and ensure that large international chains do not stifle the margins for Polish entrepreneurs. That’s what the ‘Polish plank’ is for, shortening the route from farm to fork, but a Polish entrepreneur must have the state behind him in relationships with large chains
– said Morawiecki.
He estimated that “what has been achieved in eight years could be lost in one day” and explained that this day could be October 15.
It is worth taking care of Polish entrepreneurs, what has been achieved for society in the context of social policy, and taking care of security in the context of what is happening in the Middle East.
– added the Prime Minister.
