US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Washington supports Finland and Estonia in the investigation into damage to the Balticconnector gas pipeline. This was reported with reference to the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ post on the social network X, TASS.
Blinken expressed solidarity with Finland and Estonia, which he called NATO allies on behalf of the United States. The Foreign Minister expressed his support for the two countries’ investigation into the causes of damage to the gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea.
Earlier, Finnish Central Criminal Police representative Mikko Simola stated A briefing said that during the investigation, “external traces” were detected on the bottom of the Baltic Sea in the area where the Balticconnector gas pipeline broke down. However, he noted that review and analysis of the data is still in its early stages.
