Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba believes that Kiev can become part of the North Atlantic Alliance while his 12-year-old daughter continues her education. In an interview with the Ukrainian edition of Forbes, he noted that the transition to negotiations on accession to the European Union is expected by the end of 2023.

“I think he [дочь] Kuleba responded to journalists’ questions about whether her 12-year-old child would still be at school or university when Ukraine joins NATO.

He added that he believes that on European integration, the Verkhovna Rada will be able to pass all the necessary bills to advance the EU accession process. Kuleba emphasized that voting on these issues would be a test of patriotism for Ukrainian MPs.

“Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk is leading this process through the rocks of Ukrainian parliamentarism. I think we will start negotiations if force majeure does not arise and new demands, recommendations or sub-suggestions are not made. [о вступлении в ЕС] by the end of this year,” concluded the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
