On Saturday at approximately 6:30 am local time (5:30 am in Poland), the Hamas attack on Israel began. Fighters have infiltrated many cities in the south of the country. Israel was also attacked with thousands of rockets.
Israel at war
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday after his country was attacked by Hamas:
Citizens of Israel, we are at war. And we will win it.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s office, quoted by the Times of Israel, said on Sunday that Israel’s security cabinet decided on Saturday night that the country was officially at war. Israel could take “significant military actions,” it added.
Interview with the head of Palestinian diplomacy
Minister Rau also spoke with the head of Palestinian diplomacy, Riyadh al-Malki.
I called for condemnation of these events. I also stressed the need for regional coordination to stop the violence, which has already claimed hundreds of lives
