Russian Foreign Ministry calls for UN neutrality regarding children during the conflict in Ukraine RIA News.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Vershinin announced that he met with the organization’s special representative for children and armed conflict, Virginia Gamba, “on the sidelines” of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly in New York. Vershinin added that Russia and the UN cooperate in ensuring the safety of children in the conflict zone in Ukraine.
“The purpose of the contacts is to provide Gamba with objective information about the situation of children in new regions of Russia and other regions affected by the conflict in Ukraine,” Vershinin said.
The Russian diplomat noted that the problem of the UN continues to be biased in the reports created under the pressure of the West, which chose the child issue to put pressure on Russia.
Previously the Council of Ministers approved Special procedure for the entry of Ukrainian citizens into Russia.
Previously Russian President Vladimir Putin signed A decree allowing Ukrainian citizens to enter the country without a visa and with expired internal passports.
