US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said that Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in a phone call that he expected him to take steps to restore stability in the region. TASS reports this.

The Foreign Minister also called on the Palestinian Authority to continue and intensify steps towards restoring tranquility and stability in the West Bank.
In his meeting with Blinken, Abbas said that the failure of the world community to force Israel to comply with international laws had led the situation into an explosion with unpredictable consequences.
Before this, US President Joe Biden had instructed his aides to intensify contacts with representatives of Israel, Palestine and European countries.
