Marcin Romanowski, Deputy Minister of Justice, a guest on television wPolsce.pl, judged harshly about the scandal caused by the local police in the Netherlands after the Warsaw Legia match. According to him, this is a consequence of the reluctance of liberal governments towards Poland.

It cannot be that Polish citizens or people who play in Polish clubs are treated in this way. This shows chauvinism on the part of the Dutch. This country at least has episodes like this in its history. You can see how cruelly the institutions of many European Union countries behave. It was similar in France. We remember how farmers demonstrating in the Netherlands were brutally pacified.
Do these people dare to lecture Poland? Attacking the Polish police for alleged brutality? This turns everything upside down
– argued Minister Romanowski.
Double standards
The Deputy Minister of Justice was asked about the reluctance of liberal governments towards Poland’s path of development and state reform, including legal issues.
The Netherlands, which has no Constitutional Tribunal, dares to lecture Poland and instruct what the work and organization of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal or the Supreme Court should look like. We often see this attitude in Europe. In Germany, politicians appoint judges directly, but they tell us that our solutions conflict with European standards. We see double standards. Some are for the left and the mainstream, and others for Poland and other countries that think in terms of sovereignty and Christian values
– admitted Marcin Romanowski.
