“There is no doubt that these documents should put an end to Donald Tusk’s political career in Poland once and for all. He may have a career in Berlin or Moscow,” says Dr. Marcin Romanowski, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, in an interview with wPolityce.pl.

wPolityce.pl: From a legal perspective, how would you assess what was revealed in the last episode of the documentary series “Reset”, this rather bizarre collaboration between the Polish and Russian services?
Dr. Marcin Romanowski: However, for all Poles, the most important thing in this case is the political qualification, and there is no doubt that these documents should put an end to Donald Tusk’s political career in Poland once and for all. He may have a career in Berlin or Moscow.
This foreign policy of the PO-PSL government posed a very serious threat to Poland’s raison d’etre. A year and a half after the death of the Polish president in Smolensk, Tusk decided to collaborate with the FSB. It’s hard to find a word for it other than treason. He agreed to cooperate with the Russian services, according to which both sides will provide mutual assistance in intelligence and subversive activities of the services of third countries, directed against Russia or Poland. In this way, Poland would inform Russian authorities about all intelligence activities carried out against Russia – even those carried out by NATO members. It is difficult to assess this agreement other than as contrary to Poland’s obligations under the North Atlantic Treaty. If the translations about the mythical clause were taken seriously, the contract would make no sense at all.
This is my legal assessment, but the most important thing in this situation are the political consequences.
I remember an interview from September last year in “Gazeta Wyborcza”. General Pytel was on the cover.
Yes, I also remembered this during the last episode of “Reset”: “Russia is already here.”
“Russia is already here”… It was the height of hypocrisy and the height of blatant lies. The man in charge of the Polish services at the time, who drank vodka for five hours with Russian FSB agents – as we can see from the leaked recording – dared to say such words.
The Civic Platform and the Polish People’s Party and the entire former service environment associated with them pose a real threat to Poland. That is why the referendum is so important, these elections are so important – because we see a whole network of connections between different people – these people should never again be responsible for the security of Poland.
Politicians from the party you represent, Sovereign Poland, have repeatedly spoken of the need to bring Donald Tusk before the State Tribunal. In light of what is revealed in the “Reset” series, is this really possible?
It is difficult to think of a more convincing argument than this kind of actions, which openly harm Polish interests, to bring a politician before the State Tribunal. Also because of alliances, which are a guarantee for our security. While building your own potential is obviously extremely important, alliances are a necessary addition. These types of actions by the Tusk and PO team presented Poland as completely unreliable, including towards our North Atlantic partners. This is yet another fact that proves that these people should never be at the helm of power in Poland.
All this undoubtedly constitutes solid material to bring before the State Tribunal. However, the most important thing is that Poles now have the opportunity to express their opinion in the next elections and show a red card to Tusk and this entire team.
Do you think it will also be possible to convince those Poles who reject the findings of the series “Reset”, because of TVP, because of Rachoń, because of Cenckiewicz, or who believe, for example, that what happened a few or a few times decades ago not applicable today? Moreover, the Platform has been building a completely new narrative about its eastern policy for some time now, presenting itself as always skeptical of Putin, and PiS even as pro-Russian or unconsciously favorable towards Russia?
This is an old method: the thief shouts “catch the thief” or the Zagłobowski style “the devil is dressed in a chasuble and rings the bell with his tail”. A lie repeated a hundred times is accepted as the truth by the listeners – this is also the old Goebbels principle according to which these pro-German, anti-Polish media operate.
At this point it is really important to break the bubble in which people exist who are fed with TVN, Onet propaganda or ‘revelations’ from ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’. It is everyone’s job to present arguments to these people on social media or in conversations, because nothing is more convincing than the truth. And subsequent episodes of ‘Reset’ show documents and indisputable facts that prove one thing: this pro-German policy of Tusk, Platform and PSL was also a policy of subjugation to Russia, dismantling Polish sovereignty piece by piece and leaving our homeland – effective – was distributed. in spheres of influence. And Tusk’s line of shame – the defense of the country on the Vistula line – is the best confirmation of this.
So, if the United Right wins a third term, can we expect specific actions aimed at bringing PO leader Donald Tusk to the State Tribunal? I understand that the results of the Verification Committee’s work will also be important here?
Today there should be no doubt that a commission investigating Russia’s influence is desperately needed. His work could undoubtedly lead to people responsible for actions to the detriment of the Polish state being brought before the State Tribunal. The fight for justice in this area will be an important task in the next term. It is also important that the ‘Reset’ series penetrates the bubble of people who have been misled by propaganda. That is why we must win these elections in order to complete Poland’s recovery and place political, as well as legal, responsibility on those responsible for the destruction of the Polish state. And this is the best moment.
