The Civic Coalition, like Third Way, is including the return of Sunday trading in its proposals. In an interview with TOK FM, trade workers do not hide their anger at Donald Tusk, because he plans to introduce an idea that will deprive them of the opportunity to spend free time with their families.
What suddenly happened to him when the Sunday trading ban was lifted? Why does he move and who does he want to please? After all, people are already used to not shopping on Sundays. When there is a sale, our store is empty
– he emphasizes in an interview with TOK FM Anna Kostrzewa, an employee of one of the Biedronka stores in Krakow, who does not hide her anger at Donald Tusk. Interestingly enough, despite this, the woman still plans to vote for KO.
The woman points out that in recent years customers have become accustomed to not shopping on Sundays. KO’s proposal includes a double rate for Sunday work and a guaranteed two free weekends per month. However, this does not satisfy Mrs. Anna, because for her it is the time she spends with her family that counts, and not the money.
Why was it necessary to revive this hatred? Do I have to explain again that I have a family and have the right to spend time with them? I’m sorry, but who cares if I don’t see my husband, kids and twin sister?
– says the bitter employee.
Ms. Paulina, an employee of Biedronka in Ciechanów, is also dissatisfied with KO’s proposal.
Let the politicians who come up with this come to us and do it at our pace. I show them how to put vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy products on the shelves and how to bake sandwiches. And quickly, once, once, because customers are waiting. And of course on public holidays, Fridays and Sundays, just like before 2018. They would be gone after just four hours. Physically they just wouldn’t be able to handle it
– he says. The woman does not believe that KO will be able to effectively enforce the employer’s idea of double pay for Sunday work.
I just get one day off a week for it. I will spend it alone because my husband is at work and the children are at school. I prefer to have a Sunday off, take them to the park, go to the lake or to my mother’s countryside and walk through the woods. And don’t rage because others have the day off and want to walk through the supermarket
– say. Ms Paulina declares herself a PiS voter, and after the current KO proposal she is “even more screwed”.
The idea of creating Tusk is also supported by Ms. Katarzyna, an employee of Kauflandz in Warsaw. The woman has been a KO voter until now, but now she plans to vote for the left.
“‘I deserve a day of peace’
The woman responds to the argument that a possible abolition of Sunday trading reveals that there are other professional groups that work on Sundays – including: doctors or nurses.
Fine, but they are necessary because they save others. And others we can only save with some ham that someone forgot to buy during the week. This is not a necessity, but just a matter of convenience. Let’s add: convenience at our expense
– says Mrs. Katarzyna.
I deserve a day of peace. One where I can stay up late with my husband and daughter, and then cook together, eat dinner, watch a movie or let loose by listening to music. Just one day where we can do it all together. As far as I’m concerned, everyone should have this on Sunday, to come together for this relaxation
– underlined.
The woman does not hide her lack of understanding of KO’s proposal.
I don’t understand why our side allowed PiS to appropriate the slogan ‘family’ and only protects freedom. What, we don’t have families? And if we do, should we take it to PiS so it can defend us? Something went wrong here. Let Tusk and company figure it out for themselves. They’ve already lost me, I’m going to the left
– say.
As you can see, Donald Tusk’s formation has alienated the trade workers.
