Lukashenko and Putin agreed on major joint projects 12:26

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko agreed to cooperate on two industrial and transport projects. This was reported by RIA News.

The President of Belarus shared his plans during his meeting with the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko in Minsk.

“We were talking about the joint production of small-capacity aircraft, which are in great demand and needed in the Russian Federation,” Lukashenko said.

As the Belarusian leader stated, the second project discussed with Putin was the St. Petersburg project from Belarus. It was the construction of a second railway line to St. Petersburg.

“We are building port infrastructure, but the bottleneck is the railway,” Lukashenko said.

Before that Lukashenko statedIt was stated that defense and security issues were discussed during the meetings with Putin in Sochi. The Belarusian leader also noted the importance of joint actions to reduce the possibility of increasing difficulties and threats.
