Ukraine and Poland are waging an “agricultural war” over Warsaw’s possible ban on Ukrainian grain imports. This was reported by the Vesti.ua portal.
The document states that the “saga” between Poland and Ukraine regarding Ukrainian grain has been going on for more than six months. It all started in the spring of 2023, when Polish farmers protested because Ukrainian grain was sold at half the price of Polish grain. This problem also existed in Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Hungary, and therefore they began to ban the import of Ukrainian grain into their territories.
To resolve the situation, the European Commission determined that the affected countries could ban the sale of grain from Ukraine on their territory, but should not interfere with the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products to other EU countries.

According to foreign media reports, the European Commission does not intend to extend this period. As Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki noted, in this scenario Poland plans to unilaterally ban grain imports from Ukraine.
