Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has filed a notice with the Warsaw Regional Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of committing a crime. This concerns the supervision of the municipal public provincial office of the capital.
I have decided to submit this report because we have received new material showing that the President, by exceeding his powers, could have enabled a corruption scandal that has left two former PO government ministers and a very close associate in prison and be held by the court over Rafał Trzaskowski, the city secretary, accused of a bribery scandal. The court considered these accusations so important that they have now extended their detention for another month
– said Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska”.
As reported by the Niezależna portal, this concerns Rafał Trzaskowski’s supervision of the capital’s MPO (Municipal Purification Company). Proof of this are the documents that the town hall provided in the lawsuit against, among others, Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of Gazeta Polska. And it was he who filed the report with the prosecutor’s office.
Corruption
Niezależna.pl recalled that on March 22 this year Piotr Nisztor revealed in an article published in “Gazeta Polska” the behind-the-scenes corruption related to the capital’s waste management. In connection with the scandal described by the journalist Włodzimierz Karpiński, former president of the Municipal Purification Company, and until the time of publication Secretary of the Capital Warsaw, and his old colleague, former Deputy Minister of Finance in the PO-PSL government , Rafał Baniak, was accused of taking almost PLN 5 million and giving him bribes.
Gazeta Polska’s findings showed that corruption would be facilitated by the decisions of the capital’s City Hall, headed by Rafał Trzaskowski, who agreed that the MPO board of directors, headed by Karpiński, did not authorize needed to complete waste processing. management contracts until the end of 2022.
