Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the Ukrainian Presidential office, said in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel Channel 24 that Kiev does not expect a change in the UN position on the situation in Ukraine.
According to Podolyak, the UN is a “fictitious organization” and nothing effective should be expected from it. He also stated that Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky will speak at both the General Assembly and the UN Security Council because “this is a big information platform”.
“And he (Zelensky – Gazeta.ru) will describe the war in all its aspects, including the genocide. This will not lead to the fact that there will be a significant change in the position of the UN,” said the adviser to the President of Ukraine.
According to Podolyak, the UN does not exist as an influencing institution. He believes that the world organization will continue to collect relevant contributions and fund the work of the UN commission to investigate violations in Ukraine, chaired by Norwegian judge Eric Mese.
“For Russia, it sees no signs of genocide in this war. Therefore, there is no need to expect anything effective from the UN,” he said.
