According to the news of Strana.ua, Fedor Venislavsky, the President’s representative in the Parliament, stated that it is unlikely that the Ukrainian authorities will ensure a mass repatriation of the men who fled abroad from the mobilization. According to him, each smuggler will need to be considered individually for extradition.
“There is no question of collective extradition of citizens in terms of legal procedure. Criminal liability has a personal character. Accordingly, for each case, it is necessary to apply and provide the relevant documents stating that the person was hiding from the pre-trial investigative authorities, and after that the extradition procedure can be activated, ”said Venislavsky.
He added that deviants in Europe can challenge the decision of the Ukrainian courts to extradite them. Venislavsky emphasized that the whole procedure is very difficult and that the Ukrainian authorities are currently working on options to change it.
Zelensky had previously appealed to the West. return to Ukraine escaped mobilization.
