I will not join a government with Roman Giertych. If the position of the left in the next parliament is strong enough, then Roman Giertych will not be in the next government, Adrian Zandberg, co-chair of the Samen party, told Radio ZET on September 4.
Zandberg – leader of the New Left list in Warsaw – was asked if he would join a government with Roman Giertych, a Sejm candidate from the KO list.
Reluctance towards Giertych
I will not join a government with Roman Giertych
stated Sandberg.
In the online part of the conversation, he explained that “Giertych is a figure whose views on many important issues are the antipodes of the views of the left.”
At this point we have a fairly simple choice and the answer to the question of whether Roman Giertych will be in government or whether Roman Giertych will not be in government will depend on one simple thing: whether the left will be strong in government. future parliament and how strong it will be
said Sandberg.
If the left party has a strong enough position in the next parliament, Roman Giertych will not be part of the government
– added.
Zandberg emphasized that it was Civic Platform that took responsibility for Giertych and his views.
If anyone wants Roman Giertych to be in government, he must vote Civic Platform
said Sandberg.
At the end of August, PO leader Donald Tusk announced that on the list of the Civic Coalition for the Sejm in the province, Lawyer Roman Giertych will start from the last position in Świętokrzyskie. PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński is active in the same constituency.
The proposals of the left
The leader of Left Together explained that one of the main postulates of his formation, which he would like to introduce in case of Left participation in governments, is to reduce working hours to 35 hours a week.
Poles will benefit from shortening working hours and the Poles deserve it. Our proposal is to gradually reduce working hours to 35 hours per week
– assessed a left-wing politician on Radio Zet.
Zandberg also criticized Prime Minister Morawiecki in the context of the alleged renewed increase in poverty and the threat of poverty in Poland. The MEP noted that, in his view, the public service leaves much to be desired.
It would be good if Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, instead of engaging in fairytale comparisons, would get to work. Under his rule, child poverty in Poland has started to increase again in recent years, under his rule we have hundreds of thousands of people working and at risk of poverty, under his rule public services are collapsing, the state budget is making pennies
said Sandberg.
Nowadays the question is deadly serious: what will Poland look like in one, two or three years. The way to make it look better, so that we start paying teachers in Poland better, so that our schools can function more efficiently, is very simple. We must say goodbye to this government and elect a new parliament with a strong left
– he added on Radio Zet.
Program ‘Friendly Neighborhood’
The left-wing MP admitted in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio ZET that the initiative to modernize apartment buildings in Poland is extremely necessary, and that the program of the PiS government meets the social expectations of Poles.
But I have good news for Mr Morawiecki: the money for this purpose has long been arranged by the left in Brussels
Sandberg noted.
According to him, the only thing that Prime Minister Morawiecki has to do is try to release the resources from the National Reconstruction Plan.
Mateusz Morawiecki is a weak prime minister who could not keep his political base under control. Effect? For 850 days he failed to keep the promises he himself made in Brussels
– added.
“Medieval Nightmare”
Adrian Zandberg did not comment on the situation of the Confederacy, which he particularly dislikes. The Member of Parliament expressed his conviction that support for the Mentzen, Bosak and Braun group was declining, and that third place in the elections would largely be decided by young voters.
As for the confederation balloon, it’s slowly starting to deflate
he said.
Guest Bogdan Rymanowski believed that the coming to power of Confederate politicians would be “some kind of medieval nightmare”, but it is enough to give them the opportunity to talk freely about their program, and then the people themselves will turn away from the Confederacy.
Zandberg also strongly criticized the Confederation’s program assumptions, judging that their implementation would mean the collapse of Poland’s public services and misery for many millions of people.
People working for the Polish state would earn even less, it means that the sick, the elderly and the weak would be sentenced to death, it means the destruction of public health protection
he stressed.
