He will enter his second term in the Provincial Assembly but has more powers. Mayor of Albatera and general secretary of the PP of the province of Alicante, party member since the age of 18 and has many years of experience in municipal administration. He worked with Toni Pérez in the last municipal elections. It is now preparing to take on new responsibilities with the aim of obtaining an absolute majority in its own municipality and provincial institution.

How are you after two election dates?

I finally discovered that my batteries are Duracell. The campaign started much earlier than other expeditions and the truth is it was very tiring but beautiful with the same enthusiasm and desire to keep working for the same province.

They started with a lack of understanding of PSOE; Do you think this was the start of something or was it a one-time event?

We comply with what the law prescribes. Yes, it’s true that surprisingly we don’t quite understand the position of the PSOE. But I don’t believe this assumes anything or is a start. I believe there are things that unite us rather than things that separate us.

The Alicante and Elche convention centers are for the benefit of the entire province, not a special benefit (to these two municipalities).

Was Vox ever considered government involvement?

No, never. After all, when a group has an absolute majority, it prefers to work hands-free.

President Toni Pérez spoke of the continuity in Mazón’s policies. Which one do you think worked?

Continuity is necessary because the work has been done well. Sometimes it is necessary to renew and change, but in this case, I believe that these are policies that have achieved the purpose of increasing the quality of life of citizens. To illustrate a button: it is the legislative body in which the Provincial Assembly invests the most money in each of the municipalities of the province of Alicante. For example, more water, more sports, or plans and consumption bonuses.

How do you think the future of the Cooperation Fund, which is at the center of conflicts, will be?

It will be redesigned and it will have a future. I think the previous Generalitat was not clear on how to help.

How do you justify your former boss and “president”?

I think Carlos Mazón should not be claimed. He knows his province and its needs very well. I believe it will not be necessary to justify him. It is true that the dialogues will be much more fluid.

And ask?

None of them. I am convinced.

Does political weight disappear when all relevant administrations are the same color?

I think we have gained strength when it comes to being able to work with the fluidity I mentioned when talking about dialogue. We won’t be able to find that many jobs.

Do small municipalities understand that Diputación supports two big investments, Alicante and Elche convention centres?

Both are for the benefit of the entire province; however large it is, it is not just a municipality’s benefit.

It is very difficult to form a (central) government because Pedro Sánchez is ready to make a deal with the devil.

The deadline for submitting a new resource on increasing ecological flow in Tagus is a few days away. The last ball of the match?

I hope not. The fact that we are currently running the Generalitat Valenciana will give us much more weight and strength to demand something that previous ones have not done. I hope this isn’t the final game point. We will present this call in principle next Monday. We understand that the decision focuses on general issues, not increasing ecological flow, which is the core of the problem. The serious damages that the decision to cut off the transfer may cause for the province was not taken into account.

He said Ximo Puig’s strategy hurt them. This is true?

Definitely. I’m talking about all the actions taken during the whole process, not just the legal ones, but also the farmers, waterers accompanying a demonstration, profiling themselves. I understand that the Central Manager was very clear on the roadmap to follow, which was to close the transfers and sometimes Mr. Ximo Puig would rather stay tense than confront his superiors.

You said that this measure would leave the province “secarral”, do you seriously think that agriculture in Alicante is at risk?

Definitely. This is absolutely incomprehensible. We fill our mouths by saying that we are the garden of Europe, one of the sectors that remained at the bottom of the canyon during the pandemic period was the agriculture sector. With all this, we are aware that our fields are real buyers, CO2 sinks, that is, agriculture is absolutely necessary. I don’t understand what the constant attack policies against this industry are responding to. I can not understand. I don’t see anything more than a purely political issue here. Knowing what it means to end agriculture in this region and that it will put many families into unemployment, I see no compelling reason to continue with these policies that want to end the transfer.

So where is climate change?

We are not aware of a single study that determined that an increase in ecological flow will put an end to pollution. None. In fact, the regulations themselves say that pollution should not be diluted, and we do this by increasing the ecological flow. You need to remove it. On the other hand, ending agriculture will contribute to the progress of climate change as a result of desertification of fertile lands. I think they are trying to confuse the public by saying that farmers are responsible for climate change, but quite the opposite.

« I am not against the Valencian. I think it’s positive that we all know him. Common is an official language

Will this be the legislative body in which the Generalitat’s Provincial Assembly assumes the powers of the entire socio-health field?

Yes.

Does that include City House?

It includes all the improper powers we’ve assumed for a long time.

The current situation mandates this, are you betting on re-election or will there be a government?

It is clear who won the elections, PP. Forming a government is very difficult because we are faced with a man named Pedro Sánchez who is ready to make a deal with the devil if necessary. He has already shown that in these four years. Therefore, I believe that there will be no re-election.

What can the County Council do to fulfill the PP’s promise to eradicate multilingualism?

It’s a tense situation, but I have no doubt that in the end Vega Baja is positioned where it needs to be. I am not against Valencia. I think it’s positive that we all know him. It’s a common official language and I think it’s enriching; But I am absolutely against imposition. In Vega Baja, the native language is not Valencian and everyone must be guaranteed to play on equal terms.

Does the Waste Consortium have a chair and roadmap?

I can’t say yet who will be responsible. As for the roadmap, it will need to be marked by the consortium itself.

Does that mean it will be a plant?

We’ll start working on that, and I hope so.
