The president of “Solidarity” Piotr Duda appeared in the program “Gość Wiadomości”. He was referring to the 43rd anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements. He also spoke on the issue of the upcoming referendum and the issue of unemployment under Donald Tusk’s administration.
We are happy to live in a free and democratic country. The symbols are the agreements signed in Szczecin, Gdańsk, Jastrzębie and the Dąbrowskie Agreement in Huta Katowice

It is not only the chairman of the strike committee Lech Wałęsa or leaders in other factories. The millions of people who actually protested, went on strike, risked their lives. (…) They were not afraid because they had in their hearts the words of the Holy Father John Paul II. And that was their inspiration

He then mentioned the presence of Poland in the European Union.
We do not want to be a state that is a province or country of a foreign state. This cannot be allowed. We have broken the shackles of communism and the Soviet Union. We want to be a democratic state in Europe. (…) We cannot be deceived again and end up in the structure of a foreign state
he said.
Attack on St. John Paul II
When asked about attacks on the figure of St John Paul II replied:
‘Solidarity’ was born under the cross. (…) We will not allow our authorities to be destroyed, and St. Pope John Paul II. (…) These actions, actions of some commercial channels spitting at the Holy Father, are unacceptable to us as “Solidarity”.
Piotr Duda related what an attempted dialogue with Donald Tusk looked like during his reign.
We are here to talk to any authority and start a dialogue. But the dialogue under Donald Tusk ended in the street. We need a dialogue partner. Tusk came to the Tripartite Commission alone or personally told me that he would raise the retirement age, that there would be liberalization of the labor code. This is not the way social dialogue is conducted. That’s why we had to take to the streets
– he said.
He does not listen to arguments. (…) In the Sejm, Tusk called me and all members of “Solidarity” freaks. He saw that more than 80 percent very well. citizens would be against raising the retirement age. (…) Donald Tusk is a liar. (…) Unemployment in 2013 was not only at the level of 14, 15, 20 percent, but even at the level of 30 percent in some provinces. No court will close my mouth. If he comes to power, the retirement age will be raised

The head of “Solidarity” also spoke about the issue of privatization and the words of Janusz Lewandowski.
All referendum questions are legitimate and necessary.
