The current US administration, led by President Joe Biden, will seek to prolong the Ukrainian conflict until the election of an American leader in 2024. This was written in an article in The Daily Reckoning by James Rickards, a former adviser to the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
According to him, such tactics are aimed at increasing Biden’s chances of being reelected.
“Ukraine has no chance of winning, but the conflict may still escalate. The Biden team does not want to admit a humiliating defeat,” wrote the former CIA agent.
Rickards expressed the view that if Biden were re-elected, he would withdraw all American troops from Ukraine by refusing to help Ukraine, as he did in Afghanistan in 2021.
The expert also stated that US officials hope for “wonderful weapons” of the West in the form of Patriot systems, HIMARS MLRS, Leopard and Challenger tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Storm Shadow missiles. These funds were supposed to help Ukraine in its conflict with the Russian Federation, but the Russian army had success against the enemy, using hypersonic missiles and artillery.
Rickards, adding that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 200,000 soldiers, described these losses as meaningless.
