At the press conference held after the BRICS summit, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, said that the strategic route in the G7 was determined by the USA and that they were working honestly in the BRICS. His words convey DEA News.
“The difference between the BRICS and the G7 and other Western-based structures is that everybody in the G7 listens to the US,” he says.
Lavrov stressed that BRICS has a “completely different approach to work”.
“We are all fair here. Equality is ensured for every participant,” stated the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He explained that BRICS seeks consensus until the most suitable solution for both parties is found.
“To compromise and not to follow the chief’s orders,” Lavrov summed up.
The BRICS summit will take place from 22-24 August in Johannesburg. Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court, was also invited to the event. Pretoria did its best to avoid a difficult situation, either by proposing to move the summit to China or by inviting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to replace Putin. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is convinced that the arrest of the Russian President “means war”. More details – in the material “Newspapers.Ru”.
