It would be good if the opposition met to agree on a common position on the referendum, New Left co-chair Włodzimierz Czarzasty told PAP.
In an interview with PAP, Czarzasty emphasizes that “the opposition should certainly not attack itself until the elections”.
Where it is possible to agree on common positions, these should be agreed. One of those issues is the issue of the referendum, the approach to the referendum
– added.
It would be nice to have such a meeting
he assessed.
The second issue that the leader of the left is talking about is the signing of the so-called parliamentary pact, ie a common program minimum and an agreement on co-government after the elections.
If, because elections are coming up, one of us organizes a major event, which will be an Electoral Commission event, for example on October 1, then I also think that the organizer should discuss the format with other opposition formations in order to make it as effective as possible for the Polish opposition
said Czarzasty.
On October 1, the “March of a Million Hearts” will take place in Warsaw, organized by Platforma Obywatelska and Donald Tusk.
Parliamentary elections will be held on 15 October; Poles elect 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.
Four questions will be asked in the referendum on 15 October. The first reads: “Do you support the sale of state assets to foreign entities, which causes Polish women and men to lose control of strategic sectors of the economy?”. Second, “Are you in favor of raising the retirement age, including restoring the retirement age to 67 for men and women?” Third: “Do you support the removal of the barrier at the border between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Belarus?” Fourth: “Do you support the admission of thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa, in accordance with the forced relocation mechanism imposed by the European bureaucracy?”
