For now, there is no feedback on the creation of a parliamentary pact; it’s hard for me to say why. We, as the left, want this agreement – Magdalena Biejat, the deputy head of the left club, said on Radio ZET.
Will there be a parliamentary pact?
The deputy head of the left club was asked on Zet radio why the Senate Pact came about and the Seym Pact did not.
This is probably a question for other political parties
said Beyat.
We, as the left, want this agreement
she noted.
No feedback yet. It’s hard for me to say why
said Beyat.
Senate Pact ‘excellent prognosticator’
At the same time, she judged the Senate Pact to be “an excellent prognosis”.
The great success is that it works, that we got it right, that it works. From the perspective of a person running for Senate, I have to say it translates into great collaboration right now at the time of the signature gathering. We are in contact with each other. We help each other. We’re talking about how we want the Senate to look in the next term
– said the deputy head of the left club.
She admitted that the Senate pact required compromises.
Not everyone won the constituencies they wanted, but we got along in a good mood. This means that – if we succeed in forming a government, and I firmly believe that we will succeed – we will also be able to achieve these difficult compromises, despite the program differences that exist between us
said Beyat. “We don’t want to talk about personal details”, but about “what needs to change” – also said the member of the Left club.
Regardless of whether the parliamentary pact is concluded before the elections or not, if we succeed in winning the elections – it is clear to everyone that we will form a joint government
said Beyat. According to her, “there is no other option.”
We are facing such a need and we are ready to fulfill it
she stressed.
I assure you of one thing, neither Roman Giertych nor Prof. Senyszyn was not on any opposition list. They will not co-create the government, they will not be members of the ruling coalition in future elections
– said the MP from the left.
Opposition leaders announced that work on the second edition of the Senate Pact has been completed. According to the provisions of the Senate Pact, PSL will cast its candidates for Senate in 21 constituencies, PO – in 51, Left has 15 seats, Poland 2050 – 8 candidates, Self-Government Movement Yes! For Poland – 3 candidates, there will be an impartial candidate – Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski (District 24 Łódź) and a candidate who is running outside the pact but is informally supported by all parties by not running an opponent against him. It is the current Independent Senator Jan Maria Jackowski (District No. 39, Ciechanów). Jackowski was removed from the Law and Justice club last year.
Parliamentary elections will be held on 15 October; Poles elect 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.

The referendum is a “political chutzpah”
Referring to the referendum, Biyat declared that the referendum was “chutzpah” and encouraged everyone not to collect the ballot paper.
The referendum is turned upside down, it is political chatter, joking about the important institution that the referendum is. In the referendum we approved our constitution, we voted to join the EU. These were real referenda, celebrations of democracy. PiS’s questions to the referendum sound like a really bad poll because it simply has no idea for an election campaign
said the politician.
I encourage all countries that do not want to take part in the referendum, if you, like us on the left, think it is chutzpah, a political cradle, not to take the referendum card with you when you go to the elections. There will be important elections on 15 October in which we will decide what Poland will look like after 15 October
added Biyat.
Legal abortion as a program of the left
The conversation was also about the program of the Left. Magdalena Biejat said that the left needs to ensure that the state finally builds a housing program, that women’s rights are given priority, that public transport is expanded and that we want to enter government with these priorities.
She also argued that the left would not make concessions on abortion and that there would be no referendum on the issue.
Almost 80 percent of Poles are in favor of legalizing abortion up to 12 weeks of pregnancy, so we no longer need to ask Poles what they think, we just need to introduce this law
– said the MP from the left.
If it is not possible to (…) immediately implement legal abortion without compromise, we want to pass a rescue law from the beginning – removes abortion from the penal code
– said the politician, adding that access to abortion is one of the first laws, in addition to a good housing program and increasing worker safety, that the left wants to introduce in the next government.
Poland’s security
Bieyat was also asked about the election slogan Law and Justice “Secure future of Poland”. She stated that “no one in Poland feels safe”.
Young people who go to school today do not feel safe there. They are not treated subjectively. Today, the school must be a tool in Czarnek’s hand to create legions of people who will be loyal PiS voters. Rainbow youth-friendly schools, chosen by the students themselves, where they feel good, are immediately in the crosshairs of RPD
– said Biejat, adding that senior citizens also do not feel safe in Poland, because “the only thing they can count on is leftovers in the form of the 13th and 14th pension. With such a cost of living – what is the help of two thousand. zloty per year?
