The current deputies – Grzegorz Schetyna, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Rafał Grupiński, Małgorzata Szmajdzińska, Magdalena Biejat, Maciej Kopiec – will be candidates for the Senate under the Senate Pact signed on Wednesday. Former Ombudsman Adam Bodnar and former Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak will also compete for the Senate.
On Thursday, opposition leaders – PO head Donald Tusk, PSL president Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland 2050 leader Szymon Hołownia, New Left co-chairs Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Robert Biedroń – announced that work on the second edition of the Senate pact was completed.
According to the provisions of the Senate Pact, PSL will cast its candidates for the Senate in 21 constituencies, PO – in 51, the Left has 15 seats, Poland 2050 – 8 candidates, Samorządowy Movement Yes! For Poland – 3 candidates, an impartial candidate – Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski (District 24 Łódź) and a candidate who is outside the pact but is informally supported by all parties by not running an opponent against him. It is the current Senator Jan Maria Jackowski (District No. 39, Ciechanów). Jackowski was removed from the Law and Justice club last year.
Schetyna, Grodzki, Kidawa-Blonska
As part of the Senate Pact, PO candidates became current delegates, among others. The former head of the PO, MP Grzegorz Schetyna, will run for Senate from Wrocław (district No. 7). Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, will also run for Senate (District 43, Warsaw). The following deputies will also run for the Senate: Waldy Dzikowski (District No. 90, Swarzędz), Rafał Grupiński (District 91, Poznań) and Tomasz Lenz (District No. 11, Toruń).
Other candidates are: President of the Senate Tomasz Grodzki (District No. 97, Szczecin), Deputy Speaker of the Senate Gabriela Morawska-Stanecka (District 74, Ruda Śląska) and Bogdan Borusewicz (District No. 65, Gdańsk).
The current KO senators will also compete for the senator’s mandate: Agnieszka Kołacz-Leszczyńska (District No. 4, Wałbrzych), Barbara Zdrojewska (District No. 8 Wrocław), Andrzej Kobiak (District No. 9, Bydgoszcz), Władysław Komarnicki (District No. 21, Gorzów) Wielkopolski), Artur Dunin (District No. 23, Łódź), Jerzy Fedorowicz (District No. 32, Cracow), Bogdan Klich (District No. 33, Cracow), Jolanta Hibner (District No. 40, Legionowo).

KO Senators will also be candidates: Adam Szejnfeld (District No. 88, Piła), Wojciech Ziemniak (District No. 94, Leszno), Ewa Matecka (District No. 95, Ostrów Wielkopolski), Janusz Pęcherz (District No. 96, Kalisz), Magdalena Kochan District No. 98, Stargard), Janusz Gromek (District No. 99, Kołobrzeg), Stanisław Gawłowski (District No. 100, Koszalin).
Former Human Rights Commissioner Adam Bodnar will also be a KO candidate for the Senate from District No. 44 (Warsaw), and Ryszard Brejza, father of current Senator Krzysztof Brejza, from District No. 44 (Warsaw). 10 (Inowroclaw). The KO candidates currently do not include Senator Aleksander Pociej, who entered the Senate from District No. 45 (Warsaw) in the previous elections.
The current PSL senators will also run for the upper house: Ryszard Bober (District No. 12, Grudziądz), Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski (District No. 6, Oleśnica), Michał Kamiński (District No. 41, Pruszków) and Jan Filip Libicki (District No. 89, Szamotuły).
Pawlak on the list

Leszek Przybytniak is running for constituency No. 49 (Kozienice); in District No. 59 (Suwałki) Cezary Cieślukowski, who was Deputy Head of the Ministry of Health in 2015, and in District No. 68 (Myszków) Krzysztof Smela. Former Jędrzejów starost Edmund Kaczmarek got district no. 81 (Końskie), Gustaw Marek Brzezin starts in district no. 85 (Iława) and Anna Majda in district no. 93 (Konin). Poland 2050 and left
Poland 2050 will cast its candidates in 8 constituencies. In District No. 16 (Lublin), lawyer Jacek Trela will take office, District No. and social activist Grzegorz Nowosielski.

Among the candidates from the left running for the Senator’s seat under the Senate Pact are current deputies: Małgorzata Szmajdzińska, who is running for Constituency No. 3 (Legnica) and Maciej Kopiec (Constituency No. 80, Katowice) ). Member of Parliament Magdalena Biejat (Partij Samen) is also running for Senate from the constituency in Warsaw (No. 45). The left-wing candidate will also be Senator Wojciech Konieczny, who will come from constituency No. 69 (Częstochowa). Candidates of the Self-Government Movement Yes! For Poland, the Senate will be: Józef Zając (District No. 18, Chełm), Senator Wadim Tyszkiewicz (District No. 22, Nowa Sól), Andrzej Dziuba (District No. 75, Tychy).
At the end of February, representatives of: KO, Poland 2050, New Left, PSL and the Local Government Movement “Yes! For Poland” signed a statement concluding the so-called Senate Pact. each other, but common candidates in all constituencies.
Parliamentary elections will be held on 15 October; Poles elect 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.
