There is no trace of Valencians among the pools, as the names of the official candidates of the main parties – the PP and PSOE – and the most likely to be elected are unknown.
However, it is not excluded that a deputy from Valencia, Castellón or Alicante is part of the governing body of Congress. Since its constituent legislature in 1977, nine of the Community’s sixteen legislatures have had representatives in the Assembly. Even between 2000 and 2008, there were two of the nine members—a president, four vice-presidents, and four secretaries—from Valencia.
The first to do this was Emilio Attard (UCD), who played an important role in the democratic transition as chairman of the commission tasked with drafting the Constitution and later became First Vice-President at the end of the First Legislative Assembly (1979-). 1982).
It would then have to wait until 1986 for Castellón’s deputy, socialist Irma Simón, to represent Valencians on the Governing Body, when he occupied the Third Secretariat. Developing most of his career at PP, Valencian served as Fourth Vice President, first and third secretary, under these acronyms, from 2004 to 2015.
Gil Lázaro, now a Vox MP and a strongman of Abascal’s party in Valencia, once again served as the Fourth Vice-President in this last legislature.
Socialist José Vicente Beviá Pastor from Alicante also won a double in the 1990s. He was elected first vice president in 1993, thus chairing multiple plenary sessions in Felipe González’s last legislature. However, after the victory of José María Aznar, Beviá Pastor remained at the table, but was demoted to the fourth vice president.

Among the Valencians, who hold a position on the Board responsible for leading and organizing the discussions in the Chamber, there are familiar faces who have made their mark on politics in the Community. Former president of Generalitat Francisco Camps, he served as First Vice President between 2000 and 2002. Camps left his post after being appointed as the Aznar Government delegate in the Valencian Community. The responsibility he would soon relinquish to dedicate himself to his campaign as the Generalitat candidate in the 2003 regional elections.
It was precisely during the Camps period that the aforementioned case of double Valencia representation in the Table occurred. The position corresponding to IU was for Presentación Urán, deputy of Valencia. In his own case, he reached the position of Fourth Secretary for the entire legislature.
Former Agriculture Minister Isaura Navarro, who replaced Mirella Moia at Botànic last October, also became part of the Congress Table. Between 2004 and 2008, like Urán, he was the IU’s fourth secretary and ran the Esquerra Unida del País Valencià (EUPV) quota. Instead, his presence at Consell de Ximo Puig was part of Compromís, not as a member of the EUPV from which he left.
