No social program will be liquidated, but there will be further proposals that will serve citizens in everyday life – declared Elżbieta Witek, Marshal of the Sejm, at a Saturday meeting with the residents of Czeladź (Śląskie Voivodeship).
Witek: “We have new ideas”
We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we have new ideas. You will hear them very soon – in addition to what we have already done, what we are going to do
– announced the Marshal, who came to Zagłębie Dąbrowskie at the invitation of PiS MP Waldemar Andzel.
As she said, the upcoming parliamentary elections are the time when “all adult citizens of the Republic of Poland will become the largest recruitment committee in Poland”, selecting those who will receive a trust mandate for the next four years. The marshal appealed not to waste the achievements of the past eight years.
Face-to-face meetings with citizens, Elżbieta Witek stressed, are the best way to present the government’s achievements to date and to listen to the voice of citizens.
This teaches humility and at the same time corrects the way we want to move forward
said the chairman of the Sejm.
PO – a party without a serious program
The party that she believes has no serious program proposals is the Civic Platform. Under her rule – said the marshal – m.in. the retirement age was raised, taxes were increased, and the OFE system was dismantled.
They turned out to be unbelievable
– said the marshal, who ruled that in the 2015 elections, citizens decided that “enough of these lies and empty promises”.
In politics you can be honest, keep your word; Law and Justice has proven that you can be credible
– said Marshal Witek in Czeladz. She pointed out that the election program was not written for parties, but for citizens, so it is best to do it together with them.
Pillars of the PiS program
The main pillars of the PiS program, Elżbieta Witek emphasized, are family and security.
If we are not safe, we cannot develop
She emphasized that, referring to the current threats regarding, among other things, the war in Ukraine. The very beginning was – as she said – the earlier “hybrid attack” on the Polish-Belarusian border.
Marshal of the Sejm: “We kept our word”
At the Saturday meeting, Elżbieta Witek listed the main social activities and programs implemented by the government during the last two terms, e.g. lowering the retirement age, raising the minimum wage and introducing an hourly rate, lowering taxes, free medicines for seniors and young people , the Family 500+ program (from January the amount of the benefit will be increased to PLN 800), the 13th and 14th retirement, youth and senior programs.
We have kept our word, we have not given up any social programs for families
said the chairman of the Sejm.
If the choice is wrong now, those programs are gone, I have no doubt about that
– she said.
The marshal warned of “disinformation and propaganda aimed at fighting competitors with vile methods”. She encouraged voters to assess whether their lives are better or worse now than they were 8 years ago.
You have to listen, watch and use your own mind
– she said.
Elżbieta Witek stressed that the past four years have been “extremely difficult” and that “no formation has reigned in such difficult conditions”.
This difficult time was the best test of what strength we are
– she said, admitting that mistakes during the government could not be avoided, but the PiS government, she judged, successfully passed the test in a very difficult period. Witek noted that inflation is currently falling and moving towards single digits.
The Marshal stressed the importance of strengthening Poland’s security. As she said, Poland currently has a modern army of 175,000, and the Polish ambition currently being implemented is to expand this to 300,000. soldiers. “We have the ambition to be the strongest land army in Europe,” she said.
