We are in the final phase of determining the list of candidates for the Senate. We still have a few districts where we have a dilemma – a member of the PiS Political Committee, Senator Stanisław Karczewski, admits in an interview with PAP. He added that his formation hopes to win more than 50 seats in the senate elections.
Karczewski, when asked by PAP, what stage PiS is at when it comes to identifying candidates for senators.
We’ve come a long way already. In silence, tranquility and with the president’s common sense, we actually drew up the lists of candidates
he answered.
We will not rush to announce very good candidates for the Senate
– added.
We still have a few districts where we’re in a dilemma as to who to recommend there, but I can actually say with a clear conscience that we’re in the very last stages of building the list
said the senator.
When asked how many seats his formation has, Karczewski replied curtly: “50+”.
The PiS politician also referred to the possible candidacy of the former leader of the League of Polish Families, lawyer Roman Giertych.
Mr. Giertych is not from any district. Let it take off. He has already run once and lost to our candidate Konstanty Radziwiłł. If he starts the second time, he loses the second time and I guess it doesn’t matter which district he starts from
he assessed.
Parliamentary elections will be held on 15 October; Poles elect 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.
