US President Joe Biden signed a disaster relief statement against the backdrop of large-scale wildfires in Hawaii. It was published press service White House.

“Today, President Joseph Biden announced a major disaster in the state of Hawaii and has ordered federal assistance to support state and local efforts,” the statement said.

Thanks to the proclamation, money will be allocated from the federal budget for victims in Maui County.

Earlier, officials confirmed that 36 people died as a result of wildfires in Hawaii. Dozens more were injured. Some are in critical condition. More precise data are currently unknown. Hundreds of residents were evacuated due to the natural disaster. Roads had to be closed in parts of the island of Maui where the fire broke out.

Previously, representatives of the Russian Embassy in the United States declaration that they are ready to help the citizens of the Russian Federation who fell on the island during the fires.
