Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki published on Tuesday on the X platform, formerly Twitter, an invitation letter for the German politician, head of the European People’s Party (EPP), Manfred Weber. This follows the words of Weber, who announced in an interview with ZDF television that he would “fight” PiS. The debate to which the Polish Prime Minister invited the head of the EPP will take place on October 2 this year.

“Poland does not need a lesson in democracy
Since the Germans choose to openly admit their intention to interfere in the Polish elections, this issue should be discussed in a public forum. As Prime Minister of the Polish Government, representing the parliamentary majority resulting from free and fair elections, I cannot allow the vote in which Polish citizens took part to be so maligned
– wrote Prime Minister Morawiecki.
The head of government decided that Weber’s words were unprecedented in modern history and could be interpreted as an “attempt at direct interference” in Poland’s parliamentary elections to be held on October 15. According to Prime Minister Morawiecki, the Poles should be aware of the “true intentions” of Weber’s group.
Poland does not need a lesson in democracy, because it is thanks to Solidarity that freedom and democracy exist in this part of Europe today
– said Mateusz Morawiecki.
As the Polish Prime Minister said, he is ready to debate with Weber about the challenges facing Europe today, but Polish citizens are “most concerned about the problems in Poland because the +Polish problems+ announced in Western Europe, just don’t exist.” The head of the Polish government suggested the migration crisis, social problems or the economy as topics of discussion. He notes that the debate can take place via television or any other medium.
Weber attacks the Polish government
Manfred Weber, head of the European People’s Party (EPP) group in the EP, spoke in an interview with Germany’s TV ZDF about “fighting” PiS, stating that “every party must accept the rule of law; this is a bulwark against PiS representatives in Poland systematically attacking the rule of law and free media.” He also said that “the German AfD, like Le Pen in France or PiS in Poland, are our enemies.” The German politician has already spoken out in a similar tone.
We are the only force that can replace PiS in Poland and lead the country back to Europe
– he said in June in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
