Poland 2050 wants an explanation from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki about illegal dumps. We live on a ticking ecological bomb; this bomb must finally be disarmed by someone skilled; we will deal with garbage mafia – the group’s leader, Szymon Hołownia, said on Monday.
Politicians of Poland 2050 spoke at a press conference about the fire of a hazardous materials dump, which occurred last weekend in Przylepa, a residential area of Zielona Góra.

He accused the rulers of “blowing money for foundations, villas plus institutions”, and they are incapable of ensuring the security of their nation. Hołownia thought it was “frivolous and irresponsible” for PiS to put the blame on the PO after 8 years of government.

The Member of Parliament of Poland 2050, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, informed about the submission of an interpellation to the Minister of Climate Anna Moskva about the fire at the Przylepa landfill.

Fire in the hall in Przylepa
Firefighters have been fighting a fire since Saturday in a hall in Przylep, where hazardous substances have been stored since 2012. On Sunday, after the meeting of the crisis personnel, the Lubuskie Voivode, Władysław Dajczak, announced that the fire in the hall was under control and the indicators showed that the health and life of the residents were not in danger. On Sunday evening, Lubuskie State Fire Service spokesman senior captain Arkadiusz Kaniak informed PAP that firefighting operations in Przylepa had ended. He then announced that about 18 firefighters would remain on site through the night.
In accordance with Polish regulations, permits for the collection and disposal of hazardous substances are issued by starosts. In 2012, Przylep was located in the Zielona Góra district. Therefore – according to the document obtained by PAP – the permit for the Awinion company for the landfill was issued by the then staroste of Zielona Góra, Ireneusz Plechan (PO), which allowed the transport of hazardous waste to the hall of the former meat processing plant.
Referring to the fire in Przylepa, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński said at a picnic in Stawiska on Sunday that “these rubbish dumps in western Poland are the result” of the PO’s rule.

Kaczynski said. He also stated that the head of the PO, Donald Tusk, takes every opportunity to “incite fear, incite hatred, to make various accusations; it could be a woman’s tragedy, or it could be the last fire, a fire for which they are responsible.”
