“Poles are not xenophobic, they have no racial prejudice. They just don’t want the scenes from Paris, Rome or Stockholm to be repeated in Poland, in Warsaw, where the critical mass of the presence of illegal migrants has been exceeded or where their method of assimilation has been so ineffective that there is now a social problem, fighting on street and nobody. I don’t want to inflict such a fate on myself,” says a sociologist from the Catholic University of Lublin, Prof. Arkadiusz Jablonski.
“Poles are increasingly looking at actions, not words
The vast majority, 58 percent, Poles do not believe that Donald Tusk, if he becomes Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland again, will defend our country against mass migration from Muslim countries. This is the result of the latest social change research for wPolityce.pl.
So, wasn’t the former prime minister helped by the recent ridicule that has enraged the left, as well as politicians elected to the European Parliament from Tusk’s party lists, such as Janina Ochojska, founder of the Polish humanitarian organization and member of the European Parliament?
I ask Prof. Arkadiusz Jabłoński.
I think Poles are increasingly looking at actions, not words. Donald Tusk’s attempt to match illegal migrants with contract workers from different parts of the world was pretty average
emphasizes the sociologist.
I think it also had to do with the action of the rulers showing what it actually looks like, what the differences are between the numbers given by Donald Tusk and what actually happened. Poles also remember the words of both Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz and Donald Tusk, then President of the European Council, that we are obliged to show solidarity with other countries and that we must accept the quantities of migrants declared to us or we will pay for them
he adds.
It is therefore difficult to expect that during the administration that Donald Tusk and his team might hold, the Civic Platform acted differently on this issue

The migration policy of the PO? “Let’s let these people in! Who they are will be determined later”
It also seems that the majority of PO voters, both during the migration crisis of 2015-2016 and in 2021 artificially fueled by the Lukashenko regime, were more in favor of Poland accepting migrants. Those who disagreed were accused of racism or even insensitivity.
During the migration crisis, one of the MPs of PO best expressed the essence of this party’s policy: “Let those people in! Who they are will be determined later.’ This kind of thinking of the majority of Poles, as you can see, does not fit
says Prof. Jablonski.
Poles are not xenophobic, they have no racial prejudice. I don’t want to inflict such a fate on myself. This “soft” approach to illegal migration, this alleged appeal to social sensitivity, is unacceptable to many Poles

Shows what we see today in Western Europe and that Brussels returns to the subject of migrants after many years, and the countries that have the greatest problem in this area the most, shows that the “open door” policy has not passed the test ? ?
Correct. The Poles are even more negative about this proposal to share responsibility, since it is not the fault of the Polish side that someone came up with the idea of filling the gaps in the labor force of certain countries, without taking into account the fact that it can be ineffective or even counter-effective.
– emphasizes the interlocutor of wPolityce.pl.
In Poland, on the other hand, the story of helping migrants in their country of residence or transit camps dominated from the beginning. However, we as a state have never been interested in bringing these people in to fill employment gaps. We have our own policies that are enforced. Poles do not want to be responsible for the mistakes of others. Political parties, who don’t care what happens in Poland and are more interested in how they will be judged by the EU elites, will not have these scruples. The Poles therefore have no doubts about the policy that will be pursued after a possible change of power
concludes the sociologist.
