The United Kingdom has become a member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CTPAP). This was announced by New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, his statement was posted on the country’s government website,
transmits TASS.
Hopkins described the event as great news for the region, noting that Britain’s participation in the WTAP “will increase the region’s economic opportunities for further growth and development”.
“The UK’s presence in the alliance will strengthen the rules-based trading system in the region, provide greater certainty and strengthen regional supply chains for trade.”
“Such new partners add value to the WTTT Agreement and demonstrate the continuing importance of the organisation.”
Upon reaching an agreement on the Kingdom’s accession to the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement in March 2023 knowledgeable British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership are Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Brunei (all four countries are part of the Commonwealth of Nations), Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, Chile and Japan.
