Donald Tusk’s activity is, to put it mildly, a series of compulsive-reactive actions, and even unpredictable in terms of emotions. There is no rational steadfastness, no constructive direction, no deliberate strategy. The only stability lies in the resentful determination against the ruling camp. Tusk restricts himself to knayak excesses and hateful manifestations. However, it remains silent when it is necessary to speak out on issues of strategic importance to Poland. The NATO summit, 500 days of war in Ukraine, the 80th anniversary of the Volhynia massacre, another anti-Polish resolution in the European Parliament and several other events of the past week passed without his participation, even the most symbolic. And this probably best captures the essence of the activities of the PO leader.
The biggest event of the Civic Coalition since Tusk’s return to Poland was the June 4 march. No other cause has concentrated so much effort and effort around it. All resources were mobilized and personnel reserves were activated. Donald Tusk played the role of beater for months. And what? The march was undoubtedly a success, but six weeks passed, the dust settled, and the trace of this exciting event did not even remain in the polls.

The PO leader’s activity is as unstable as the effects of his march. It comes in bursts. He remains silent for weeks and suddenly reveals himself with an extremely emotional, but irrelevant from the point of view of a real debate. While his latest video about the dangers of mass immigration was interesting, it was puzzling and a source of confusion for his own electorate and party coalition. After all, they are supporters of an “open society”, cosmopolitanism and multicultural Europe. The only effect Tusk achieved was the strengthening of the Confederacy, which was reflected in the polls.

This poll is important because it is important information for PiS. The social fear of the massive influx of migrants, especially from Muslim countries, is extremely high. Insufficient protection of this issue by the United Right could lead to the strengthening of the Confederacy.

However, Donald Tusk won nothing for himself. On the contrary, KO politicians are still trying to explain the intent of his speech, and he threw himself into anti-PiS zeal. He didn’t even take the obvious opportunity to build a constructive, mature message following the events of the past week. He was not interested in the NATO summit, the summary of the 500 days of war or the 80th anniversary of the massacre in Volhynia. Is it because all these issues are problematic for him? He will likely show up soon with ritual hatred and an aggressive attack on PiS. That is how he has shaped his political activities and that is how he apparently wants to go to the elections. He once said that emotions are a key element in politics, and shortly after his return from Brussels he accused the PO of treating PiS too leniently. So what can we expect from Tusk’s actions in the coming weeks? Sad bouts of aggression. And Poland could use a wise, mature opposition that cares about Polish affairs.
