Celebrations on August 15
Last week, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that the motto of this year’s celebrations would be “Strong White and Red”. In addition to the parade, the program of the celebrations from August 12 to 15 includes military picnics throughout the country. The head of the Ministry of National Defense said that in addition to the soldiers of the Polish army, soldiers of the allied forces stationed in Poland – from the United States, Great Britain, Romania and Croatia – will also participate in the parade.
The last parade on the occasion of Polish Army Day celebrations under the slogan “Loyal to Poland” took place in 2019 in Katowice. The place was chosen in connection with the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First Silesian Uprising – one of three uprisings that led to the incorporation of part of Upper Silesia into Poland in 1922.
