“The origins of the migration crisis now plaguing Europe originated in Germany. I advise Manfred Weber’s party to stop worrying about the elections in Poland and focus on Europe’s real problems. A Europe that needs security, not burning cities,” said Beata Szydło, former Prime Minister, Member of the European Parliament for Law and Justice, during a debate in the European Parliament.
A debate was held in Strasbourg on the conclusions of the European Council meeting on 29-30 June 2023, in particular on the latest developments in the war against Ukraine and the current situation in Russia. PiS MEP Beata Szydło took the floor in the discussion.
The security of Europe
Beata Szydło stressed that for Europe and Europeans there is no more important issue today than security – and in a broad sense. On the one hand, as she said, it is a matter of all support for Ukraine and its inclusion in the structures of NATO and the European Union.
There is no more important issue in Europe and for Europeans than security – in the broad sense of the word. On the one hand, the issue of support for Ukraine, we all want Ukraine to win, to join NATO, the European Union, and this is our goal, because a safe, free Ukraine means a safe and free Europe
said Szydlo.
She stated that citizens are taking to the streets because they are concerned about their economic security, about the future.
But on the other hand you have to wonder why people in Europe are protesting? Why are there riots in different cities – in Paris, in France, in different places? Why are farmers protesting? They are also worried about their economic security, the future, they don’t know what will happen and that should also be discussed here, because these people are worried about their future because of the mistakes that have been made here in the European Union. Relocation is already underway. Migrants, illegal migrants, today we also have problems with huge inflation, with prices going up and down
she argued.
Good directing?
The former prime minister added that today we are also facing other problems, such as massive inflation and galloping prices, which are, on the one hand, the result of the war in Ukraine, but, on the other hand, are the result of mistakes made have been made in the implementation of projects and programs such as the Green Deal and Fit for 55.
On the one hand, of course, this is the result of the war in Ukraine, but on the other hand, mistakes are made when introducing projects and programs such as “Green Deal” or Fit for 55, for example. And finally, we have to answer the question answer whether the European Union is going in the right direction, because so far Europeans somehow fail to see the benefits of it. And we have to take these protests seriously and we have to take the problems of Europeans seriously
– declared the United Right politician.
EVP responsibility
Beata Szydło also addressed the representatives of one of the largest political groups in the European Parliament, which is responsible for what is happening today.
Finally, I would like to address two sentences to the representative and the representatives of one of the largest groups in the European Parliament, which is responsible for what is happening at the moment: migration errors, errors related to this policy that has led to such huge The crisis in Europe started today in Germany and it would be good if the EPP stopped covering the elections in Poland and stopped listening to its Polish colleagues and finally focused on what needs to be done in Europe. The security of Europe!
Szydło summarized her speech.
