Senate decision
We are waiting for the decision of the senate and only when it is made, and it is a matter of the next few days, when their (the senate) deadline – so to speak – ends and they will have to make this decision
– said the former head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Then the Sejm will probably decide on it at the end of July
– added.
President Andrzej Duda announced that he would immediately sign the bill. So, at the beginning of August, this commission will be able to be established and start its activities as soon as possible, because it is extremely important for the security of the Polish state.
Macierewicz emphasized.
When asked whether it is already known who will sit on this committee, the deputy head of PiS replies that “talks are being held about it”.
Certainly, until there is a legal formalized law, a public discussion on this topic is not appropriate
Macierewicz added.
Presidential signature
May 29 President Andrzej Duda signed the law on the establishment of a commission to investigate Russian influence on the internal security of the Republic of Poland in the years 2007-2022 and announced that he would refer it to the Constitutional Tribunal for follow-up investigation. On June 2, President Andrzej Duda presented a draft amendment to the law on the commission, which changes, among other things, rules for the election of the chairman and other members of the commission. In the explanatory memorandum to the presidential draft amendment to the law on the commission, it was written that its purpose is to make amendments to the law aimed at removing the ability to apply remedies by the commission, thus making the appeals process against the decision of the committee is changed – from administrative courts to ordinary courts, as well as excluding the possibility of filling the position of member of the committee by a deputy or senator and increasing the independence of the committee and the transparency of procedures for her and standardizing the protection of professional secrets within the legal system.
