One day after meeting Pedro Sánchez face-to-face, the majority nominated Alberto Núñez Feijóo as the winner of the debate. Now, what effect might this have on the electorate?

You never know, because there have even been argument losers that have aroused solidarity around them. But Monday’s debate served to make a lot of things clear for voters about who is who. While someone like Feijóo brought out all the good in himself, Sánchez brought out all the bad in himself.

Feijóo came to tell you that you had a great time after the face-to-face meeting. Can you finally open the door to more discussion?

They are not necessary. We offered a second discussion in which all of Sánchez’s associates were present, and we offered it to him by letter, but Pedro Sánchez refused. A four-person argument cites Yolanda Díaz’s lie that it will be enough for Sánchez to rule. If Sánchez is able to re-form a government in the hypothetical, near-impossible situation, he will need to include both Esquerra, the PNV, Bildu and the Union and Progress in his coalition.

Recent polls show a slight increase in PSOE ahead of 23J. Does it worry them?

We are interested in doing things well, and by doing things well we will have a quorum. There is no poll that gives any probability that the PSOE will win these elections. When Núñez Feijóo offered to support him in the nomination in the winner’s debate, he refused, making it clear that he wasn’t even sure he was the winner. Therefore, there are three possible endings in these elections: the People’s Party government alone, the People’s Party government supported by the abstention of PSOE or Vox, and the blockade.

In the Community of Valencia, as in other autonomies and town halls, there is a government deal with Vox and this possible end has yet to be named…

As the elections approach, we will have more seats than PSOE and Sumar combined. In these circumstances, it will be enough for us to abstain from PSOE or Vox.

But in Murcia, Vox is working hard to get into Management with PP. What will happen if this situation is reproduced in the central government?

As we asked Pedro Sánchez on Monday, I hope that if we win the elections, it will make it easier for the PSOE to form a government on its own. If the PSOE is so worried about Vox’s presence, it’s okay to do something about it’s absence. It makes no sense for the PSOE to warn of Vox’s future and refuse to do so if it gets an opportunity to facilitate a PP government on its own after the elections.

This abstention in favor of the party with the most votes was not seen in Extremadura…

No, not even in the Community of Valencia in previous cases. We’re talking about the Spanish Government, let’s be serious. A person who has not won the elections in the Spanish Government has never been in power. Historically there have been municipalities and autonomous communities governed by the latter, but now we are talking about the Government of Spain. Everything is important, but the Spanish Government is something important enough for us not to break the tradition that the winner will always rule.

Can deals with Vox in regions like the Community of Valencia penalize them?

We are surprised that they ask us so much about the deals with Vox and never ask the Socialists about the deals with Bildu. The PSOE will be punished for its deals with Bildu and we will be given the opportunity to form a government alone.

What reading from the PP, such as the cases that occurred in the Valencian Parliament or Elche on Monday with the Vox accusations, avoiding talking about sexist violence and walking away from the banner?

I can’t express more than my disagreement. I am stunned by such displays of insensitivity.

What is the PP’s position on sexist violence?

We opposed the very clear “Only yes is yes” law, facilitated the amendment of the “only yes is yes” law, opposed the closure of the nine courts of gender-based violence in the Community of Valencia, we highlighted many times how this increased sexist violence in the Community of Valencia during the PSPV and Compromís Government, we’ve had a national level initiative on the Pact Against Gender-Based Violence… If you ask me about the PP’s stance on sexist violence, the answer should be: suspicion is crimes.

Do you accept that the concept of gender violence should be changed to domestic violence?

Gender violence is sexist violence. Last point.

What are the red lines of the PP after 23J?

Anyone who saw Monday’s debate and saw the paper at the table where the People’s Party offered to run the PSOE on the top-voted list, and if we were, whether they had their support, is well aware of what this is and what is in it. For the remainder of the election campaign, what the People’s Party will require from citizens is votes to rule alone. If PSOE leaders are not willing to vote for us so that we can rule without Vox, we will ask their voters directly: We will ask them to vote for us so that the People’s Party does not stick to Vox in government. of Spain.

Mistreatment of Alicante in General Government Budgets or in terms of infrastructure has been systematic. What is the PP’s roadmap for this province?

Let it put its weight again in national politics, let it count again in national politics. Alicante has long been invisible to Madrid. Now, with the Alicante Generalitat president, things will be different. The list of Sanchismo’s violations and oversights in the provinces of Alicante and Valencia is long, but there is one that symbolizes them all, the Chamartín station. Five years ago a Valencian minister decided that Alicante and Valencians should take our trains to Chamartín, and in five years no one has done anything to adapt this station to the new traffic. Going to Chamartín turned into a very unpleasant adventure.

What will be done from the PP with the water policy?

Water policy has to adapt to the times. It can’t be that Spain has a roadmap and not a water map, that our basins are not interconnected, or that we give Portugal twice as much water as we have committed to give and that is the case. water is not distributed in Spain. We need a plan for water to reach everyone and quench everyone’s thirst. The alternative to transfers cannot be the abolition of agriculture.

Will the interrupted streams from the Tajo-Segura transfer be reinstated?

Interrupted streams will be recovered.

How does the 23J look?

I hope he’s not on vacation. If I’m on vacation on July 24, PP and Spain will have done badly.

What could happen at the organic level if they lose the election?

This will not happen. The only question is how much will the election be won, and hopefully by a sufficient majority.

Do you consider yourself a foreign minister?

No, I see myself helping Alberto Núñez Feijóo in whatever he needs and in whatever position he decides.
