The term “filter bubble” originally referred to the mechanism of information selection on the Internet, especially in social media. In 2011, Eli Pariser drew attention to this phenomenon as a threat to democracy and public discourse. In fact, human nature is constructed in such a way that we don’t like to be nervous, but we like to be content. No wonder that various social networking sites, with the help of algorithms, give us information and opinions that confirm our world view (we are content to encounter reflections that confirm our beliefs) and isolate us from positions that question our perception of the world (which should the customer be nervous?).
The bubbles are growing
However, in the world of major media groups, creating information bubbles has become a consistent political method Today, the information bubble does not just mean Internet algorithms that provide us with specific content. In accordance with the interests of large companies on the one hand and political entities on the other hand, not “information bubbles” are being built today, but whole networks of concepts and phenomena that have to form and make believe recipients, respectively: consumers and voters. For example, the Russians have developed a Pavlovian reflex in many residents in which the word “American” evokes distrust and hatred, so that little needs to be done to discourage further US-related issues.
Bubbles more and less harmful
The formation of “information bubbles” is unfortunately a natural phenomenon based on the human psyche, research results and the effectiveness of the message. However, there are information bubbles that are more and less harmful. The British, convinced that they will only benefit from Brexit, will not lose as much as, say, the Poles, whose defenses are weakened by devaluing the Polish uniform and the Polish army in general. One could cite here the entire extensive disinformation campaign, which was supposed to ridicule the border guard and the attitude at the Polish-Belarusian border, which resulted in intensifying the pressure of the Lukashenko regime and sending new waves of illegal immigration to Poland.
Who does not pass on information about threats
However, the “human rights activists” were not informed that there are trained agents from Moscow and Minsk among the immigrants, that the newcomers themselves often simply lie for their own interests, and that strictness towards foreigners who break the law at the border is a common practice in all of Europe.
So if someone jokes that TVP is biased because it didn’t tell viewers how TVN discovered the “sausage scandal” in hot dogs in Orlen, it can be pointed out that the left-liberal information bubble that ignores threats to the country’s sovereignty has a more serious problem.
And so it is here on the forced displacement of immigrants (with paying fines as an alternative) is widely spoken in Germany, in Brussels, in the EU mainstream, but the recipients of the left-liberal information bubble are completely unaware of the imminent top-down change of the migration pact across the continent.
Likewise, the entry, pretty obvious to anyone who doesn’t subscribe to the post-political concept of the world, is that The Germans have a number of interests that conflict with the Polish ones and they pursue these interests in different ways (for example, through its politicians and journalists in Poland) also causes hysteria that is incomprehensible from a logical point of view. Some voters simply say that years of German investment in Russia, Berlin’s disdain for NATO standards (for example, spending on the military), or currency issues (the euro, which above all strengthens the German economy), do not exist. Not anymore.
Information section
However, since man always perceives the world in terms of “being” and “stranger”, Jarosław Kaczyński and his party were created to be absolutely evil. It is impossible to argue with the adherents of this, no longer a bubble, but an information cult. We can talk about specific LGBT ideologues like Karl Ulrichs or Adolf Brand, we can quote German politicians themselves about their intention to interfere in Polish affairs, we can explain to them what European “solidarity” on immigrants means, but in return we will only see squinted eyes that suspiciously recognize in our “pisowie” and with satisfaction expose the conspiracy of sinister ducklings. The level of this fanaticism is so great that soon warnings of fires or – God forbid – of war or terrorist attacks will be treated as “PiS bait” and not a red alert for civilians.
The adherents of the liberal information sect already believe that this new beautiful continent is already a step away from universal happiness, eco-energy, democracy and full equality, but that it does not face internal contradictions, not the weakness of the elites, behind the scenes politics and secret interests, but only conservatives from Poland, Italy or Spain, and in the vulgarized version just “pisowcy” walking on Vladimir Putin’s belt and actually ending up on special farms near Moscow and Tambov, to spoil the joyful life of the EU utopia for them, the supermen of liberalism, the Enlightenment and modernity.
Rather, there is no cure for this state of mind, and there is not enough strength and social support to stop the flow of lies and disinformation. There is nothing to do but build, strengthen and develop conservative and pro-Polish media, despite the financial advantage of foreign players and the political correctness that supports the left and liberals. Contemporary right-wing media, newspapers, television and publishing have simply become an activity as important as underground education in the 19th century. With all the imperfections, weaknesses, and mistakes, it just couldn’t be any other way, because information cults can literally tell their people anything. This is a very dangerous circumstance for a country that is on the border with the “Russian Mir”.
