A fruitful, substantive meeting on the future of the ruling coalition and further legislative plans – that’s how one person who knows the backstage of the talks summed it up in an interview with PAP. According to another interlocutor, one of the topics included a bill before the Supreme Court.
“I’ll Vote Like PiS”
Tuesday afternoon there was a meeting of the leaders of the United Right, attended by, among others, the heads of: PiS – JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski, Solidarity of Poland – Zbigniew Ziobro, the Republican Party – Adam Bielan and the Association for the Renewal – Marcin Ociepa. The meeting was also attended by the PiS secretary general Krzysztof Sobolewski, the head of the PiS club Ryszard Terlecki and the leader of Kukiz’15, PaweÅ‚ Kukiz.
It was a substantive meeting on the future of the coalition and further legislative plans
– one of the coalition politicians who knew the backstage of the talks told PAP.
As he added, the meeting was held in full consensus.
There was also an announcement of further similar meetings
– he pointed out.
PAP’s second interlocutor, who took part in the meeting, emphasizes that “the election lists were not discussed at all”. The PiS president is said to have said the elections would take place within the constitutional deadline.
It was a substantive meeting about the reform of the Supreme Court, including the National Reconstruction Plan in the background, and each participant discussed topics that were important to him.
The politician said.
On Thursday, the Justice and Human Rights Committee will continue work on the presidential bill before the Supreme Court, which provides for the liquidation of the Disciplinary Chamber.
According to the tentative agenda, posted on the Sejm’s website, deputies will consider the Supreme Court bill at its May 25-26 meeting.

We talked about the future, especially about legislative projects. The atmosphere was very good, constructive, said the head of the Republican Party, MEP Adam Bielan. The atmosphere indicated that there was a compromise solution in the case of the Supreme Court, he added.
It was the first meeting in many months, in a new formula. We talked about the future, especially about legislative projects. The atmosphere was very good, constructive
– reported Bielan.
Lots of appointments and details, so I’m happy with the meeting
– He admitted.
Bielan added that during the meeting, among other things, about changes in the Supreme Court.
We didn’t discuss the details, but the atmosphere indicated that there was a compromise on the matter
– rated the head of the Republican Party.
PaweÅ‚ Kukiz’s Postulates
A team will be formed with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Justice related to justices of the peace, as well as a team that will work on solutions related to access to weapons and ammunition, Kukiz’15 leader PaweÅ‚ Kukiz told PAP after the meeting of the leaders of the United Right, which took place in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
According to PAP, the topics included the Supreme Court bill, but each participant raised issues of concern to him.
Kukiz, who attended the meeting, admitted in an interview with PAP that he spoke at the prime minister’s chancellery about his initiative to introduce the establishment of justice of the peace into the Polish legal order, as well as about legislative solutions to facilitate access to firearms.
A team will be set up with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Kukiz’15 to explain any discrepancies so that the law (on justices of the peace – PAP) can be passed by the end of the year at the latest.
said Kukiz.
I will try to convince Professor Piotr KruszyÅ„ski, who was the chairman of the team that developed this solution in the President’s Chancellery, to join this work
– added.
Been working on solutions for justices of the peace since the spring of last year. led a team led by a carnist, Prof. KruszyÅ„ski, who worked in the president’s chancery. It was partly as a result of talks between Kukiz’15 leader PaweÅ‚ Kukiz and President Andrzej Duda.
The issue of the establishment of justices of the peace is one of the flagship programs of Kukiz’15. Finally, the draft signed by the president was submitted to the Sejm in early November last year.
According to the presidential proposal, the courts should deal with the simplest cases, which – as Andrzej Duda said – cause a nuisance and block district courts. Justices of the peace must primarily rule on criminal offenses and selected offenses, where the value of the damage does not exceed 10,000 PLN. zloty. Civil cases are also brought before the Magistrates’ Courts, including: amicable settlement cases, alimony cases, property abuse cases or cases in simplified proceedings. The decisions of the magistrates’ courts may be appealed to the district courts.
As he emphasized, a similar team would also be set up for the weapons and ammunition laws submitted to the Sejm and introduced by Kukiz’15 and the Republicans.
We want them to be comprehensive solutions
– says the leader of Kukiz’15.
It is necessary to find a compromise in all this and return to the concept of “shooting range in each district” in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense, the Territorial Armed Forces, so that as many Poles as possible know how to use weapons skillfully
– he said.
The draft arms and ammunition bill was presented to the Sejm in March by Kukiz’15 MPs and a group of PiS MPs. The proposed new law is to replace the current law of 21 May 1999 on weapons and ammunition. The change must be dictated by the desire to unblock access to firearms to law-abiding citizens, of legal age and sane, by – above all – the final liquidation of the discretionary power of the police. The voivodes should be involved in the issuance of firearms licenses as civilian organs of the state administration.
