Tuesday afternoon there was a meeting of the leaders of the United Right, attended by, among others, the heads of: PiS – Jarosław Kaczyński, Solidarity of Poland – Zbigniew Ziobro, the Republican Party – Adam Bielan and the Association for the Renewal – Marcin Ociepa. The meeting was also attended by the PiS secretary general Krzysztof Sobolewski, the head of the PiS club Ryszard Terlecki and the leader of Kukiz’15, Paweł Kukiz.

Paweł Kukiz’s Postulates
A team will be formed with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Justice related to justices of the peace, as well as a team that will work on solutions related to access to weapons and ammunition, Kukiz’15 leader Paweł Kukiz told PAP after the meeting of the leaders of the United Right, which took place in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
According to PAP, the topics included the Supreme Court bill, but each participant raised issues of concern to him.
Kukiz, who attended the meeting, admitted in an interview with PAP that he spoke at the prime minister’s chancellery about his initiative to introduce the establishment of justice of the peace into the Polish legal order, as well as about legislative solutions to facilitate access to firearms.
A team will be set up with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Kukiz’15 to explain any discrepancies so that the law (on justices of the peace – PAP) can be passed by the end of the year at the latest.

According to the presidential proposal, the courts should deal with the simplest cases, which – as Andrzej Duda said – cause a nuisance and block district courts. Justices of the peace must primarily rule on criminal offenses and selected offenses, where the value of the damage does not exceed 10,000 PLN. zloty. Civil cases are also brought before the Magistrates’ Courts, including: amicable settlement cases, alimony cases, property abuse cases or cases in simplified proceedings. The decisions of the magistrates’ courts may be appealed to the district courts.
As he emphasized, a similar team would also be set up for the weapons and ammunition laws submitted to the Sejm and introduced by Kukiz’15 and the Republicans.

The draft arms and ammunition bill was presented to the Sejm in March by Kukiz’15 MPs and a group of PiS MPs. The proposed new law is to replace the current law of 21 May 1999 on weapons and ammunition. The change must be dictated by the desire to unblock access to firearms to law-abiding citizens, of legal age and sane, by – above all – the final liquidation of the discretionary power of the police. The voivodes should be involved in the issuance of firearms licenses as civilian organs of the state administration.
