Political scientist talked about the consequences of Iran’s entry into the SCO

Iran’s entry into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) may accelerate an alternative formation to the United Nations (UN). This opinion was expressed during the interview. NEWS.ru political scientist Karina Gevorgian expressed. She stressed that the SCO has gained a powerful ally with extensive experience in fighting Western sanctions and resisting US domination.

“This is both a great achievement for the organization itself and beneficial for Iran itself. It offers great opportunities to strengthen the country’s infrastructure to create transport and transit corridors. I believe that Iran’s entry will accelerate the process of establishing the SCO as a kind of Asian alternative to the UN,” Gevorgian said.

He reminded that Iran is among the ten most technologically advanced countries in the world. Also, according to him, this country has enormous resources and an advantageous geostrategic position.

The SCO is an international organization founded on June 15, 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
